in the beginning

Ah, another Blog begins . . .

The only reason I'm doing this . . . other than being totally full of myself and thinking that my words are somehow superior to the other gazillions of words out there . . . is that I have this little part of my life that I want everyone to know about. His name is Isaac. He's 5 1/2 months old.

Between my wife and my new son, I have finally felt that overwhelming rush of love that lasts for days, I mean months, I mean years . . .

My son just started teething; he has one tiny tooth popping out of his lower gums. It doesn't seem to be bothering him too much. That is to say, I haven't noticed him crying anymore than usual.

He's a pretty smiley baby, but he's also very shy. Whenever someone at church talks to him he smiles this huge smile that seems to be as big as his whole face, then turns his head and buries his face in my shoulder. (You should take a moment to sigh.)

Here's my question. If all parents experience this much love, and there are billions of parents in the world, how can there be any problems? This kind of love times 4 billion should equal an intense planet of love.

Speaking of love, I told my wife I'd be home by 8pm so I've got to go.
