You break it, you buy it!

At Office Depot yesterday I was buying some organizational stuff for the office. While trying out different portable hanging file folder thingies, I broke one. All I did was try to close the top and snap the latch shut. Apparently, the top didn’t fit exactly on top of the box, so when I tried to close the latch, the hinges broke.

The store people didn't make me buy the thing, so I was pretty happy (actually, I don't think they can legally require you to buy something you break).

I decided to choose a different design. My family always says, “You get what you pay for.” Taking their advice, I bought the slightly more expensive design.

I didn't have time yesterday to get my files organized, so I put everything in the corner intending to get to it in the morning.

As soon as I got in and looked over my day's schedule, I started to work on my filing project. I gathered all my supplies and opened the top of my fancy new portable file carrier. I open the lid all the way and was going to let it sit opened while I worked . . . a reasonable plan. The second I let go of the lid it flopped back and snapped the plastic hinges!

So no more filing supplies from Office Depot.
